Characteristic, luxurious, organically influenced interior design. Building upon the traditions of the legendary California designers, Mimi London and Mark Boone are forging their own trails. Creators of the accepted definition of “ultimate Western”, they are now segueing to a more urbane and varied landscape. While they still have a predilection for organic materials and quiet palettes, a range of global, indigenous patterns and a more streamlined approach have evolved. Recognized in the early ‘70’s for her log and tree trunk furniture built in collaboration with Michael Taylor, London continually brings the beauty of natural formations to her interior design. Boone, raised in Virginia, received degrees in Interior Design and Resource Management from Virginia Tech. In addition, he trained with some of the best, including an esteemed architectural firm in Virginia and later designed showrooms across the country for Baker, Knapp & Tubbs. In 1989, he joined London, and subsequently London Boone, Inc. was formed. A boutique firm, clients enjoy personal attention from the principals themselves. Many patrons start with their second home where you can “put your boots up” and are so happy with the results that the more formal town house is done next. About a quarter of the firm’s commissions are in Los Angeles, with the remainder being in resort communities such as Aspen, Palm Springs, La Jolla and the Napa valley. The firm has been included on Architectural Digest’s prestigious “A.D. 100”, a listing of the world’s top firms, since its’ inception. Many of London-Boone’s favorite couture client creations are the inspiration for Mimi London, Inc.’s furniture line. Contact Information: |
